Currently, the list of airports in Vietnam consists of 22 airports, including 10 international airports, which not only meet the needs of transporting passengers, but also contribute to promoting economic trade, import and export of goods. The first Vietnam airport was Lang Co airport, located in Minh Thanh commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province in 1945 for the purpose of receiving aid from allies. - Van Don International Airport: This is a new and best airport to fly into Vietnam which was officially put into operation on December 30, 2018 with a capacity of about 2.5 million passengers/year. This is an important project to contribute to promoting tourism development in Ha Long and Van Don key economic zones. In 2019, the airport welcomed more than 10,000 international visitors. Location: Doan Ket commune, Van Don district, Quang Ninh province.

- Tan Son Nhat International Airport: The largest airport in Vietnam with the largest area - 850ha, the design capacity of 28 million passengers per year. In 2019, the number of visitors to Vietnam through Tan Son Nhat airport reached 40.13 million passengers, up 4.5% compared to 2018. Location: Truong Son Street, Ward 2, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

On January 1, 2011, it was upgraded to an international airport with a capacity of 3-5 million passengers/year. Note: Convenient travel to tourist destinations such as Vung Tau (259km – 5 hours 30 minutes), Ben Tre (118km – 2 hours 50 minutes), Can Tho (7.2km – 15 minutes), Con Dao (87.1km – 2 hours 2 minutes to Tran De port and 4 hours of high-speed train to Ben Dam port), etc. However, the number of international routes to Can Tho airport is quite small - 02 flights to Seoul - Korea and Taipei - Taiwan.
- Phu Quoc International Airport: Officially put into operation in late November 2012, this is also the 5th biggest airport in Vietnam in terms of the number of international passengers. The designed capacity of the airport is about 7 million passengers/year, and can welcome 3,500 people/hour during peak hours. In 2019, Phu Quoc international airport welcomed 392,000 international passengers, up 35.5% compared to 2018. Location: Duong To commune, Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang province.
