Located in the Mekong Delta area in the south of Vietnam, this province is about 85km to the south of Ho Chi Minh City. It has a natural area of 2,360 km2 and is located on three islets (An Hoa islet, Bao islet, and Minh islet) and is deposited by alluvium from four branches of the Mekong River.

Ben Tre Province has a fan shape with a pointed head located upstream, with a system of interlaced canals. To the north, it borders Tien Giang Province, with the common boundary being the Tien River.
